The research team started work June 1, 2018.
In the project 6 researchers (including a professional photographer) carrried out field work in more than 100, previously chosen settlements on both sides of the Hungarian – Serbian border. They were documenting the traditional heritage of rural architecture, as well the trends in its changes. Photographic documentantions were made and occasionally they recorded oral documents also.
The research involved reviewing the traditional building materials and techniques; selecting aspects of the proper area of the building and its orientation; discovering the technical solutions of co-habiting with nature. It also included the documentation of the doors and windows, the ornaments, the cover materials. It also aimed at discovering the relations of building and lifestyle.
The research ended July 31, 2019.
