Čoka
The documents first mention it as Chaka in 1247 as the property of the son of Ban Kelemenös, the royal governor of Pongrácz, but in 1280 the Cumans ravaged the estates of Csóka. Later it was owned by the Telekdy and the Makófalvi families. In 1536 Miklós Oláh mentioned it among the more famous villages of the Délvidék region.
Following Turkish rule, Serbian shepherds came to the site of the destroyed settlement. After Lőrinc Marczibányi had bought Csóka in 1782, he settled five hundred families of tobacco gardeners from Szeged in the manor. Later on Hungarians from Baranya and Tolna, as well as Slovaks from Upper Hungary arrived too.
