Majdan

The settlement was established on the site of the medieval Oroszlámos, founded by the Csanád clan, and in its present-day neighbourhood. Later, in the 18^th century, it became the property of the royal treasury and then of Count Ignác Batthyány, Bishop of Transylvania. In 1770 it was inhabited by tobacco gardeners from Szeged.
