Jermenovci
It was named in honour of Ferenc Ürményi, Treasury estate manager. On his initiative, in March 1817, 62 Roman Catholic Hungarian families from Majsa, Apátfalva and Rákospuszta were settled on the treasury estate on the right bank of the Maria Theresa Canal (today the Danube-Tisza-Danube Canal). The second wave of settling took place in 1844, when about 100 more tobacco-growing families came here from Szeged.
