Podlokanj

Today Podlokány is not an administratively independent settlement. Three settlements – Oroszlámos, Podlokány and Sziget – form the Oroszlámos local community.
In 1851, Elek Fényes, Hungarian statistician, writer of economical statistics and geography wrote the following about the settlement: “Podlokány, a populated Hungarian plain in Torontál County, in the Béba manor: with 12 houses, 96 Catholics and tobacco growing activity. The landlord is the Count Batthyány family.”
