Rabe
Rábé is a settlement from the age of the Árpád dynasty. Documents in 1256 first mention it as Rabey. It was part of the estates of the Csanád clan. In Turkish times, after the fall of Timisoara, the village surrendered to the Turks. The defterdar (finance secretary) in Timisoara found only 27 Hungarians in the village, and then Rába became a plain. In 1777, it was settled with tobacco growers from Szeged by the governing body of Csanád. In 1783, the Royal Chamber leased it to Szeged, and since then its population has been growing. The settlement belongs to the municipality of Törökkanizsa in Vojvodina, in the North Banat district, next to the Hungarian-Romanian-Serbian tri-state area. In 2019, a border crossing point to Hungary was opened here.
