Tamásfalva is a settlement in Central Banat, in the municipality of Bégaszentgyörgy. It was named after Tamás Komori Bedekovich, a court councillor, who was the owner of the settlement. In 1841, tobacco-growing Hungarians settled here. During the revolution and the war of independence of 1848–49, Serbian rebels scorched the place and its Hungarian population fled beyond the river Maros. Northeast of Tamásfalva lay the village Hetény, and these two settlements were united at the end of the 19th century.
